Job Description
The LNG Process Engineering Team provides technical support and oversight in the licensing of [Employer] LNG process at the Bechtel EPC offices in Houston. Bechtel engineering staff and a group of [Employer] process engineers jointly perform a variety of technical services in support of studies, FEEDs, EPC, LNG plant commissioning/startups, and technology development initiatives. Support of LNG Technology Licensing efforts by assisting in process development for proposal preparation at various stages is integral to the job. Technical services include tasks such as conceptual, design, rated and dynamic simulation runs, process design basis development, PFD and P&ID review, process and utility description development, process equipment datasheet development and hazard analysis (SIR, HAZID and HAZOP) participation. Efforts may also include review of piping design models, hydraulic calculations, technical review of vendor proposals and participation in vendor acceptance testing. [Employer] LNG process engineers' responsibilities also include approval, review and comment on a number of documents pertaining to the liquefaction area supporting LNG licensing oversight directives. Field support of operating plants throughout the world as part of the job function may include start-up services, plant acceptance test simulation runs, plant performance optimization and troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- Ability to influence others. Strong technical skills in process engineering and/or LNG operations.
- Strong process simulation skills using Hysys.
Preferred:
- Experience with gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, cryogenic heat exchange or PVT behavior.
- Visual Basic skills are a strong positive factor.
- Operations experience is a plus.
- Ability to use and develop Hysys Dynamic models is a valued.
- Desired Experience Level
- 6+ years of combined experience in process engineering and field operations support in refinery or natural gas processing, large oil and gas production facilities, ethylene manufacturing systems and/or LNG.
