Overview
Responsible for continuously improving Investigation Processes at the Alliance Refinery. Support the effective implementation of Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis.
Job Description
- Own the Alliance Incident Investigation process, systems and procedures.
- Be an expert investigator.
- Monitor the status of active or pending investigations, drive quality into investigation teams, ensure timely completion and quality/actionable recommendations.
- Provide various types of Investigation training to the organization. Develop and maintain a pool of trained and knowledgeable investigators.
- Respond to requests for investigation team personnel, have processes to ensure personnel are available and trained.
- Lead significant investigations.
- Utilize IMPACT to input, document and track incident action items. Create reports, metrics and drive closure of incident action items.
- Provide quality control for IMPACT incidents. Ensure investigations are input timely and completely per corporate standards.
- Interact with RLT and Superintendent’s to ensure timely closure of investigation action items.
- Participate on the COP Refining RCA network.
- Working with operations and maintenance, drive systematic safety and reliability improvements through quality investigations.
Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis
- High School diploma
- Valid drivers license
- 5 years Operations experience
- Trained in all aspects of Process Safety Management and Defect Elimination, Layers of Protection Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, process safety information, auditing, incident investigation, management of change/pre-startup safety review, and mechanical integrity
- Strong interpersonal and customer focus skills; work with many diverse internal and external customers
