Our client is a young and dynamic multi-disciplined contractor in the construction industry and is looking for a well-rounded QA/QC Manager to join its already successful team.  The ideal applicant will possess knowledge of Civil, Mechanical and Electrical QA/QC inspection experience.  Our client believes in providing a stable, long-term working environment which offers limitless opportunities to grow.  Located in Sherwood Park, the successful applicant must enjoy traveling from site to site which will give his/her a chance to visit various projects throughout Alberta.
The job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  1. Coordinate all inspection activities and ensure that all personnel are competent and trained in the recognition of non-conformance to the client specifications and quality standards.
  2. Review of all contracts prior to acceptance to detect differences from the tender and refer to the Project Manager for resolution.
  3. With the Project Manager, responsible for the disposition of non-conforming items.
  4. Communicate with the Quality Control Representatives.
  5. Manage reports from the Field Engineer or site QA/QC Inspectors on matters relating to quality. 
  6. Prepare the non-conformance report for any abnormalities observed and/or reported.
Qualifications:
  1. At least 5-10 years' experience in the QA/QC field.
  2. The preferred candidate will have a well-rounded working knowledge of civil, mechanical and electrical work. 
  3. Working knowledge of welding procedures and code requirements (ABSA, CWB) is a strong asset.
  4. Experience and familiarity in the industrial client based industry in Canada and preferably Alberta.
  5. Motivation to build a successful team and prove their worth to client.
  6. Has a keen interest in innovative technologies and methods.
  7. Willingness to travel frequently.
 In addition to a fantastic benefits package, our client also offers a company vehicle, company matched pension plan, and the definite possibility of advancement within the company.  The annual salary is negotiable; however, it is within the $120,000 - $140,000/annum range.
