Requirements
We are currently seeking a high caliber Instrumentation Designer to work on a contract basis. Based in Vancouver, you will be working for one of the world’s leading engineering, procurement and construction companies to the Mining and Oil & Gas sectors.
Job Description:
• Specification of Instrumentation and Control systems design for in-house projects.
• Responsible for the specification and design of industrial plant control systems; basic process control, safety systems, control panels, analyzer systems, telecommunications, field instrumentation, valves & integration of motor control into the plant control system.
• Scope of works, providing inter-discipline coordination, progress reporting, technical studies, capital cost estimates, manpower planning, and provide input to project schedules.
• Material requisitions, purchase orders, technical bid evaluations and reviewing awarded bid packages.
• Definition of construction work packages, installation specifications and providing material take-offs to support site activities.
• Supervise and/or participate in control system staging (FAT and SAT), site checkouts, plant commissioning and startup.
Job Requirements
• An engineering degree or 3 year technology diploma
• 5 years+ of related experience in Mining/Oil & Gas or heavy industry experience
• Pre-commissioning and commissioning experience.
• mentoring and coaching skills, leading Instrument teams, from conceptual design through detail design and ideally.
• Intools, SmartPlant design or equivalent design tools.
• Assist with control system staging, software check-outs and site support
