Job Description
The Senior Technician will be responsible for both laboratory work and for small scale pilot testing.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Maintaining safety as a top working priority
- Mentoring less experienced personnel in safe operations
- Working under the direction of one or more scientists
- Collaborating with scientists and other technicians in a team environment
- Documenting all experimental work in laboratory notebooks for purposes of legal records.
- Assisting in set up and maintenance of both laboratory and pilot scale equipment
- Conducting experiments according to standard operating procedures.
- Evaluating experimental results for adjustment of conditions or identification of trends
Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions
- Valid driver’s license
- Minimum of a two-year technical degree in science or engineering or relevant equivalent experience.
- Ten years experience in a process or pilot plant environment
- A strong and proactive approach to safety
- Basic laboratory skills as demonstrated by laboratory experience or college level laboratory based class work
- Basic math and computer skills
- Familiar with use of hand and power tools
- Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
- Ability to work without close supervision
- Possess a good safety and work record
- Be available for occasional overtime on an as needed basis.
- Work well in a team environment (good written and communication skills)
- Follow standard operating procedures
- Comply with the respiratory program
- Ability to maneuver drums and cylinders
- Carry loads up to 50 pounds
- Be able to climb ladder/stairs and work at elevated heights
Preferred Qualifications
- Twenty years experience in a process or pilot plant environment
- High level of technical knowledge around process and mechanical equipment
- Four or more years experience using basic laboratory equipment and techniques
- Ability to manage a very diverse workload
- Proven ability to self-start and work alone, as well as work within a team setting
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Broad experience in oil and gas business
- Working knowledge of water treatment technology
- Willingness to take leadership in behavioral safety program and/or other safety related role.
