Job Description
The responsibilities of the Staff Landman may include:
- Acquiring, trading, and divesting producing and undeveloped leaseholds to consolidate holdings in areas of interest.
- Working with legal counsel to clear title for drilling and division order purposes.
- Writing and negotiating contracts and the management of contractual matters associated with large [Employer] asset base (both company-operated and operated by others.)
- Attend Industry functions and build/maintain external network
- Preparing and submitting various state and federal filings, including annual plans of development, commercial well filings, unit designations, unit expansion applications, location exceptions, commingling applications, etc., and company representation at state hearings.
- Representing the company in dealing with partners, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), or state agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
- Ten years direct land experience in the oil and gas industry.
Ten years direct experience negotiating experience and an understanding of contracts, project planning, project and acquisition economics, commercial evaluation and alternative business structures
