Overview
Under the general direction of the Mechanical Maintenance and Reliability Superintendent, supervise craft-persons who perform field maintenance work involving the removal, disassembly/repair, re-assembly, and installation of rotating equipment. Re-commission equipment and ensure that it is operating safely and reliably. Monitor and troubleshoot to improve the performance of rotating equipment systems.
Job Description
- Strives for excellence in all health, safety and environmental matters in their area of responsibility as well as in the Los Angeles Refinery plants & facilities and the surrounding community. Responsible for own safety/health as well as the safety/health of assigned craftspersons, vendors, and contractors and for promoting the health and safety of others, and performing quality work in a safe and environmentally conscientious manner.
- Responsible for complying with Company policies and procedures, established standards, and governmental regulations (federal, state, and local).
- Establishes rotating equipment inspection intervals. Monitors rotating equipment performance. Identifies and develops preventive/predictive maintenance programs for rotating equipment.
- Interfaces with an integrated team as the Rotating Equipment expert to develop the work plan for the Plant.
- Responsible for maintenance of accurate and complete records on rotating equipment inspection and repair history.
- Audits work performed by outside shops, contractors, vendors, and craft-persons.
- Identifies training needs and participates in development of training programs for craft-persons.
- Develops the scope of Turnaround work and minor modification projects, prepares the project documents, and executes the work.
- Subject to after-hours “call-outs” to support Refinery emergencies.
- Must be able to independently perform basic Rotating Equipment troubleshooting.
Qualifications

- Minimum of eight (8) years experience with Rotating Equipment, including pumps, steam turbines, and compressors or three (3) years experience with a Mechanical Engineering BS degree.
- Minimum of two (2) years of direct Supervisory experience
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
