Job Description

This position will involves coordination and communication of the Engineering/Procurement (E/P) Contractor’s activities and designs with the field organization (refinery operations and maintenance).  The work consists of a significant amount of revamp to existing equipment and thus requires evaluation and understanding of the existing hardware that will be impacted.

This position will be based at our Wood River Refinery, near St. Louis, Missouri and will require travel between here and the E/P Contractor’s home office in Houston, TX, and with other travel as required to vendor shops, subcontractors, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (typically Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical)

  • 10+ years refinery experience required.

  • The candidate shall be experienced in the design, procurement, and construction of refinery process control systems and the individual components that make up these systems.  The candidate shall have experience with Honeywell Distributed Control System (TDC 3000 and Experion) hardward and configuration.

  • The candidate shall have experience in the development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), and Instrument Loop Diagrams.  Experience with “InTools” software is beneficial.  The candidate shall have experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), utilizing the HAZOP/PHA design evaluation process.  Additionally, experience with Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) in determining target Safety Integrity Level (SIL), is required.

  • The candidate will have experience with the installation of field instruments and transmitters, and shall be familiar with the testing and calibration of such components.  The candidate will have experience with the installation, testing, and calibration of field analyzers.
