Job Description
 
  • Has responsibility for specific tax planning and/or compliance programs and initiatives.
  • Supports development and recommendation of tax policy and provides technical advice with respect to areas of assigned responsibility.
  • Participates in implementation of programs and initiatives within areas of assigned responsibility.
  • Researchs and analyzes tax laws and regulations.
  • Monitors tax legislative and regulatory developments.
  • Identifies opportunities for maximizing cash flow and minimizing financial statement tax expense while maintaining highest standards of compliance and integrity.
  • Works with business personnel to implement approved tax opportunities and other key business initiatives consistent with unit's tax compliance policies and procedures.
  • Drafts, or reviews and critiques, tax-sensitive documentation (including non-standard terms and conditions of contracts and agreements).
  • Works with finance personnel to record tax consequences consistent with assumptions underlying tax planning and compliance initiatives.
  • Manages external tax consultants.
  • Works with tax and finance employees to forecast taxes for financial planning & analysis purposes and compare actual to forecasted quarterly/annual effective tax rates.
  • Prepares periodic tax work papers, schedules and reports (e.g., quarterly ETR walks, unusual item reports, KPMG quarterly disclosures, etc.).
 
Qualifications
 
  • Strong academic credentials from accredited four-year institution of higher learning with undergraduate or post-graduate degree and significant academic focus on taxation.
  • 6+ years of experience working full-time as tax professional on multi-national clients' tax-related matters, and strong technical knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
  • Ability to evaluate complex proposals and anticipate, identify, and resolve tax-related risks and opportunities.

  • CPA certificate or equivalent professional license.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • PC proficiency.
  • Chinese language proficiency is a plus.
  • Good project management skills.
