Job Description
[Company] Ltd is currently seeking applicants for full-time position of Operations Manager, to be based in our Sherwood Park office. The primary role of this position is to manage the implementation, administration, optimization and support of the company’s Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, which includes the desktop, data networking, telecommunications, server and storage environments.
Specific Responsibilities:
· Design and implement short- and long-term plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.
· Conduct research and make recommendations on products and services in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts.
· Oversee the configuration control and change management processes within the various infrastructure environments.
· Develop, implement and adhere to SLAs against the various environments to support business requirements.
· Ensure sufficient resourcing to administer and maintain the IT infrastructure in support of published SLAs.
· Coordinate within the IT group to ensure the successful deployment and operation of business applications and systems in accordance with established SLAs.
· Support the development of business cases for the IT Governance Process.
The following skills, experience, and qualifications are required:
· Extensive experience in IT infrastructure implementation, administration, optimization and operations.
· Exposure to a broad range of technologies and environments.
· Experience with the development of, and adherence to, SLAs.
· Deep understanding of technology best practices, formal methodology, process development and implementation, metrics and governance.
· Experience working in a geographically dispersed organization.
· Superior consultative and interpersonal skills.
· Strong written and oral communication skills.
· Minimum fifteen years experience in IT in a senior leadership technology role primarily involved in technology infrastructure management and support.
· Experience in the oil and gas services industry is highly desirable.
Formal Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or engineering or equivalent related work experience.
