Job Description
Our client, a privately held management company located in Vancouver is looking for a Controller to join their team.
You have experience with public company filings and possess the ability to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in a multi-company, multi-currency environment.
The Controller is a key aggregation and review point for financial information and the individual responsible for the detail behind public financial reporting.
The Duties and Responsibilities will include the following:
· Work with a small accounting team to ensure accurate and timely updating and maintenance of the general ledger as well as the payables and receivables sub-ledgers
· Compile quarterly and annual public company financial statements and note preparation to ensure compliance with GAAP
· Ensure adherence to internal controls and proper evidence of reviews and controls
· Liaise with internal and external auditors
· Assist with preparation of annual budgets and monthly reviews of budget variances
· Preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
Ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
· CA designation preferred
· Experience in the oil and gas industry and/or public company reporting is an asset
· Understanding of Canadian GAAP rules and requirements
· Ability to consistently meet deadlines
· Self motivated and independent
· Ability to work as a team member and coordinate the activities of the team
· Excellent verbal and written skills
· Working knowledge of accounting software/spreadsheets
· High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
This position will offer a salary within the range of $75,000 - $125,000 per year plus a comprehensive benefits package.
