The Position
The selected candidate will perform detail design work on the mechanical aspects of material handling systems as they related to the oil sands industry.
Specific duties include:
- Working with a team of Mechanical Engineers and designers,
- Developing/reviewing mechanical data sheets and specifications for equipment bids.
- Conducting technical evaluations of equipment bids and recommend vendors
- Model reviews
- Review vendor information and interface with the design team to ensure vendor equipment and models meet project requirements.
The selected candidate for this role will have:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical engineering
- Currently registered as a Professional Engineer with the authority to stamp drawings
- 10 to 15 years experience in design of material handling systems for movement of bulk materials
- Experience in design of hoppers, bins and conveyor systems for use in the oil sands industry
- Analytical ability utilized in facing new design challenges
- Excellent people skills developed through extensive experience in a project driven multi-disciplined environment
- Able to manage a team with the intent to improve their technical output and skills
