Requirements:
Radiation protection inspector (also known as health physicists and radiation protection advisers) give advice and guidance about the possible hazards of ionizing radiation (e.g. X-rays), radioactive materials and waste, and non-ionizing radiation (e.g. radar, mobile phone masts and lasers).
They use scientific techniques and equipment to measure and monitor radiation, assess risks, and ensure the safety of the workplace, the general public, and the environment.
Employers are legally required to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on radiation.
This may include the appointment of a radiation protection inspector to advise the petroleum industry operations sites of any legal requirements.
Requirements:
B, Sc in Relevant degree subjects include physical/mathematical/applied science, life and medical science, and engineering, and preferably with post graduate degree , with 10 to 15 years experience In particular the following subjects may increase your chances:
• physics/applied physics;
• Biology/biomedical science / biochemistry;
• Environmental science (biological);
• Chemical and physical sciences;
• Environmental health;
• Nuclear engineering;
• Medical laboratory science;
• Physiology;
• Radiography.
