Location: Calgary, AB, Canada

Reporting to the Commercial Asset Manager, this position is located in Calgary, Alberta. The incumbent in this role is a key member of the Asset Management team in developing strategies for each asset within the portfolio.  The role also includes interfacing with numerous other departments within the company and some external entities.
 
Responsibilities
 
·         Providing analysis and recommendation for action of various agreements
·         Retaining proficiency with models to provide a high-level financial impact of capital expansion proposals and monitoring assets related to budgets/forecasts, identifying any variances and proposing mitigations for negative variances;
·         Developing standard processes for Asset Management;
·         Providing validated monthly/quarterly reports regarding issues, earnings, and impacts on assets on time;
·         Coordinating monthly Asset Meetings to identify problems and resolve outstanding issues and facilitate different business areas to help attain earning goals;
·         Working with internal stakeholders, such as Shipper Services and Oil Accounting, to identify procedures based on nominations and contract obligations;
·         Verifying if proper revenue streams are being invoiced as per contracts and works with accountants to implement consistent and meaningful reporting standards; and,
·         Generating ideas, identifying cost savings, and optimizing efficiencies, in order to realize earnings improvement (incremental revenue or cost saving) for all assets.
 
Qualifications
 
·         University degree with 2-5 years experience in a variety of positions with increasing responsibility including knowledge of accounting treatments, system operation and new capital economic modeling.
·         Solid practical working knowledge of financials, economics, and business agreements.
·         An operational engineering background would be an asset.
·         Practical working knowledge of the pipeline system including power costs, quality, operating and scheduling areas as related to system operation.
·         Strong analytical, communication, organizational and financial skills.
·         Demonstrated influencing capability.
·         Committed team player.
·         Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Lotus Notes.
