[Company] in Calgary has a challenging career opportunity available for an Advisor/Senior Advisor, Human Resources, Compensation, in the Corporate Human Resources Department. This is a permanent role. This position will be directly involved in the delivery of compensation advisory services in Liquids Pipelines and Major Projects, and to a lesser degree, the Corporate office. This position may be located in Calgary or Edmonton.
Responsibilities
· Reporting to the Manager, Compensation, this position will provide compensation support on specific business unit initiatives, and to a lesser degree enterprise wide initiatives. Specifically, the role will be responsible to:
· Partner with internal clients to provide value added consultative and analytical support with respect to compensation policies, programs and procedures for senior management and salaried roles.
· Lead projects to address compensation-related issues. This would include issue identification, data gathering, analysis, modeling and solution development.
· Research tactical and strategic compensation issues and recommend changes related to current and potential compensation programs.
· Design, develop, and administer incentive and recognition programs in support of company goals and philosophy.
Qualifications
· University degree.
· 5-7 years professional experience in compensation including base pay, short term incentive and long term incentive programs.
· Experience working with a job evaluation system and managing organizational internal equity.
· Ability to research, problem solve and manage projects within a complex environment.
· Ability to influence without authority.
· Strong decision making skills, sense of urgency and ability to set priorities.
· Advanced Excel knowledge required to effectively compile and analyze data and identify trends.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work both as a team member and independently.
· Must be able to make presentations and interact with senior leaders.
· Membership (or eligibility for membership) as a Certified Human Resources Practitioner (CHRP) in the Human Resources Institute of Alberta (HRIA) and Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
