[Company] specializes in large, complex, integrated industrial/mechanical/electrical projects. Our projects involve construction of oil sands processing facilities, refinery expansions, gas plant expansions, co-generation facilities, major mine developments, spool fabrication facilities and SAGD facilities.
Responsibilities
This staff position reports to a Construction Superintendent and performs assignment specific engineering and construction management duties that may include any combination of the following: material takeoffs; estimating; scheduling; work plan development; tracking of quantities and costs; coordination between engineering and construction activities; subcontract and material contract management; material receipt inspections; participation in daily safety tours and tool box meetings; update trend charts and progress curves; purchasing, expediting and coordination of materials; and working knowledge of quality control procedures relating to construction activities.
Qualifications
· Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management or equivalent degree/work experience.
· Candidates must possess a strong work ethic; demonstrate good organization, communication and interpersonal skills; be able to read and interpret mechanical design drawings and specifications.
· Ability to travel/relocate based on business needs.
· Candidates must have the ability to operate a standard personal computer as well as knowledge of and experience with standard office computer software.
· Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment.
· Must be able to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done.
