You will play a crucial role in achieving the goal of becoming a leading producer in the Alberta oilsands.
 
Activities
Cover the engineering studies for material aspects (piping, vessels, tanks,)
  • Technical expert in mechanical implementation
  • Clarification of applicable specifications during FEL3, for mechanicals issues
  • Internal reference customer for documentation for the his own area
  • Checks the compliance of the work/deliverables with the contractual scope of work and the agreed specifications/standards to be used – requests the necessary corrections from Contractor(s)
  • Make sure that the Contractor(s) receive the required Customer information in due time within job perimeter
  • Check the compliance of documentation with identification/numbering procedure
  • Report to the disciplines engineers any issues that may happen
  • Represent the company in meetings with contractors dedicated to his related disciplines and perimeter
  • Contributes to reporting regarding activities within area of his own responsibility
  • Is one of the key attendees to P&IDs and HAZOP reviews for his own area
  • Attend to the meetings with Contractors, licensors, etc.
  • Participate to the audit review
  • Undertakes all actions within perimeter of responsibility which contributes to global Project objectives
  • Proposes the best compromise between the application of company specifications and the necessary adaptation to local Alberta environment and conditions
Accountabilities
  • Ensures the proper implementation of project specifications during the FEED phase with priority to HSE rules.
  • Develops the proper implementation standards during FEL 3 for detailed engineering phase.
  • Ensure the development of a high quality control for the upgrader project.
Required Skills
 
Education:
  • Around 10 years of experience in a project or maintenance / inspection in similar industries (oil, chemical)
Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian regulation, norms practice regarding mechanical aspects (vessels, piping, etc.)
Skills:
  • Must be rigorous and reliable
  • Good communication skills are a must
  • Ability to speak French would be an asset
