This position works as directed to assist the GOM Deepwater Well Engineering Team (Drilling Engineers, Completion Engineers, Rig Supervisors, Rig Superintendent, Operations Geologist) to plan and develop procedures and monitor performance for wells drilled and completed in the Gulf of Mexico. The position is a rig site rotational assignment (14 & 14) with occasional office duty.
Job Description:
· Assists the Operations Engineer in the development of detailed well plans.
· Works with the Operations Engineer & Rig Team to ensure efficient execution of action plan and contingency programs.
· Works with the Operations Engineer & Rig Team to maintain an accurate “6 Day Forecast”, scheduling anticipated operations and equipment/personnel logistics.
· Works with the Operations Engineer, Service Providers, and Rig Team to insure that QA/QC programs are scheduled and adhered to in a timely manner to safely execute the drilling operation.
· Assists the Rig Team with the preparation of Morning Reports, Casing reports, End of Well reports, and other documentation of technical data at the well site.
· Provides and promotes a safe work environment, adhering to Company ESH policy.
· Rates on-site vendor performance, recommending areas for efficiency improvement.
· Promotes team atmosphere to all contractors and service personnel.
· Reviews and evaluates job site recommendations and equipment to ensure compatibility and compliance with planned operations.
· Assumes responsibility, as directed, for various activities related to drilling and completion rig operations.
Job Requirements:
· Minimum of BS Degree from accredited University in Mechanical, Civil, or Petroleum Engineering.
· 1-5 years Drilling Operations experience – Offshore (GOM and/or International) experience is preferred.
· An understanding of fundamental engineering requirements relative to drilling operations and well design.
· Positive communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work and lead in a Team environment.
· Computer literacy with proficiency in Excel, Word and Dims\Well View preferred.
