Overview
Performs accounting duties of a complex nature requiring advanced professional experience, knowledge and competency in accounting principles and practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration. CPA preferred.
- Five or more years of FMC or related professional accounting experience.
- Computer skills with knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and financial analysis software.
- Experience in implementing accounting systems, methods, procedures and controls.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and to solve non-recurring problems. Demonstrates some degree of leadership ability. Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate information to appropriate parties.
- Shows evidence of good organization and project planning skills.
Job Description
- Prepares specialized reporting and analysis in various accounting functions such as Medical Insurance, Pension benefit, Restricted Stock and Stock Options, Payroll etc.
- Prepares month end closing journal vouchers, schedules, FRS (internal financial statements) and researches manager’s questions on cost center reports and other analysis.
- Performs general ledger system maintenance.
- Reconciles various accounts & provides analysis, especially for benefit related accounts. Provides resolution and reconciliation within established time frames.
- Interface with outside consultants to determine proper benefit reserve balances.
- Identifies and resolves situations not in compliance with FMC internal controls and recommends improvements to the accounting process to optimize internal control.
- Preparation of complex monthly, quarterly and annual internal and external reporting requirements.
- Develops and implements complex or difficult accounting systems, methods, procedures and controls.
- Provides support in the budgeting process, including preparation and analysis.
