Our client is one of the largest carriers of bulk commodities in Western Canada is currently looking to hire an experienced MAINTENANCE FACILITY COORDINATOR.
This position reports to the Edmonton Terminal Manager.
Employment Requirements:
- A minimum of five to ten years of successful supervision of lead hands, apprentices and labourers. Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or a mechanical aptitude and background.
- Knowledgeable in the operation of boilers, pumps and washing chemicals
- Must have or be willing to obtain a valid Boiler Certificate
- Class 1 License would be an asset.
We are really looking for someone that would supervise 25 people. This person would not work in the shop or washbay.
Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of lead hands, and staff members to meet the needs of Sherwood Park terminal, within the scope of the maintenance, and washbay facility. Doing so in the most effective, productive, cost effective and safe manner possible.
Develop, mentor and provide leadership to all staff members. Hold regular staff meetings. Resolve work issues, recommend and implement work measures to improve productivity. Supervise lead hands in each department. Meet with the lead hands regularly for updates on work that is completed, in progress and work that needs to be scheduled.
Ensure policies, procedures and maintenance manuals are maintained in accordance with our client's Systems standard. Oversee the requisition of materials and supplies as well as contractors that are performing work on site. Employee Management Responsibilities
Hiring, training, disciplining of staff members and managing terminations in accordance with Our ClientTransportation Systems Policies and Procedure.
Providing and maintaining the shift schedule(s) for the staff members.
Review and approve staff member's time cards for straight time, shift and overtime hours. Ensure that application form(s) are complete, pre-employment medical and reference checks are done. Notify the Terminal Manager, Safety and Human Resource departments when a staff member is hired or leaves the company.
Maintaining attendance records and scheduling of vacation.
Safety Management Responsibilities: Report any vehicle damage to Safety Department. Generate a Non Conformance Report (NCR) for any vehicle damage. Ensure that the NCR number is on the work order(s) for any vehicle damage that is repaired. Ensure all CVSA repairs are faxed in to appropriate authority, and then sent to Safety Department. Schedule new hire and staff members training for WHMIS, TDG, Confined space entry and First Aid.
Ensure that standards for safe workings conditions are observed in accordance with regulations and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual. Report all work related injuries to the Safety department. Monitor staffs that are on modified duty. Perform other duties as required.
Hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 8 hours shifts. You may choose your start time to be either 7:00 am or 8:00 am.
Full Employer paid benefits after three months with the exception of Dental which has a 6 month waiting period. 3 Weeks holidays to start after One Year of Service. RRSP Program.
Salary is between $65,000 - $70,000 DOE.
