Build/maintain visibility in operations with project personnel. Support the safety observation process; identify ways to increase participation by facility personnel in the safety process. Provide safety support/oversight for contractor work activity and facilitate root cause investigations and corrective actions.
Lead the planning/presentation of weekly Safety Communication Meetings and HS&E Assessments. Serve as On-site Safety Officer and a technical resource during emergency responses. Be knowledgeable of the IMT structure to fulfill the roles and responsibilities if the IMT is convened.
Assist in planning/conducting required emergency drills. Provide independent review for Confined Space Entries, Hot Work, Lifting Packages, etc. Develop/maintain a method to track action items from HS&E Assessments, Corporate Audits, and other HSE Initiatives. Coordinate training management and oversight. The position is primarily field based, rotational, with occasional office based work periods.
A High School diploma or equivalent certification is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or related field or equivalent work experience is required; a minimum of 6 years experience as an HSE professional is required. CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) preferred. Candidate must have good communication skills, be computer literate, have well developed planning and organizational skills including the ability to work independently, prioritize activities, meet commitments, and proactively manage time and generally manage a heavy workload.
