Requirements:
· Reports to the Manager, Financial Reporting
· Accounting designation (CA, CMA, or CGA)
· Ideally, a total of five to eight years or more of post university experience, with
· two to three most recent years employed in a junior oil and gas exploration and
· production company (preferably publicly listed), responsible for all facets of
· internal and external financial reporting. Looking to apply this experience and
· also deepen own expertise
· Demonstrated understanding of the operational aspects of the oil and gas
· business outside of financial reporting and therefore able to interact with
· confidence with employees outside of the financial reporting and accounting
· functions when necessary
· Excellent interpersonal skills: as a key member of the financial reporting team,
· the successful candidate must be willing to work closely with others to achieve
· time-sensitive goals, and should not be afraid to get involved in all tasks
· necessary to get the job done
· Focused on improving approaches to processes
· Current in knowledge and application of Canadian GAAP to the oil and gas
· industry
· Good understanding of fundamental, industry-specific tax issues
· Excellent knowledge of MS Excel
· Knowledge of Qbyte
