Job Description:
· This position is responsible for managing the consolidated Financial Reporting process
· This position is a key contact to each of the business units
· The primarily responsibilities include leading the monthly earnings review meetings
· Reviewing and analyzing the business units’ operating and financial results including the financial statements,
· Reviewing quarterly and annual disclosure documents and related information
· Assessing the goodwill impairment and asset impairment and reviewing the legal entity financial statements and related schedules to facilitate the filing of domestic and foreign income tax returns
· Other responsibilities include the accounting for property, plant and equipment, for investments in subsidiaries, partnerships and joint exploration ventures, and purchase and sale and cost allocation transactions
· A large part of the position involves addressing ad hoc accounting issues/questions from each of the upstream business units and other groups in the organization, as well as those within the financial reporting group.
Other Responsibilities:
· Project work in between month-end responsibilities
· Supervise 3 Financial Analysts
· Special Functional/Technical Skills
· Accounting professional designation required (CA, CMA or CGA designation)
· Strong accounting knowledge with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
· Knowledge of accounting practices specific to the oil and gas industry.
· Knowledge of Peoplesoft, SAP, and excel preferred.
· General Skills/Knowledge
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Proven leadership and management skills.
· Proven success in leading and managing a team of individuals.
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
· Ability to work under tight reporting deadlines.
· Attention to detail while understanding the overall implications.
· Initiative to take an issue, understand it and recommend possible solutions.
· Proactive with demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and prioritize work.
· Ability to apply creativity and conceptual thought to analysis and projects.
· Ability to adapt to ever changing accounting and business environment
