Job Description
Our client is a world leader in design and manufacture of industrial pumps for the oil and gas, petrochemical and power generation industry.
They are currently looking for an experienced and resourceful Engineering Manager for their location in Western GTA.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement processes to translate customer requirements into drawings and engineering documents used by both internal and external customers.
· Coordinate the assignment of new equipment orders to appropriate manufacturing facility.
· Primary liaison with internal and external customers on significant technical issues.
· Lead daily execution in project engineering, project managers, manufacturing services and data departments within the facility.
· Leads product and process design reviews in an effort to reduce product cost through continuous improvement projects in both design and process improvements.
· Conduct performance and salary reviews of subordinates as well as identify training and professional development needs for direct reports.
· Participates on cross departmental teams for new product developments.
· Works in conjunction with other site engineering leads to define and execute strategy to fully utilize world wide engineering footprint.
· Work in conjunction with others on the plant leadership team to develop and implement plans to continually improve company performance related to safety, quality, delivery, talent, speed and cost.
· Performs all tasks in accordance with Business Conduct Guidelines.
Requirements:
· Bachelors of engineering degree.
· Advanced working knowledge of American Petroleum Institute (API) standards and other industry specifications.
· Advanced technical knowledge of reciprocating and centrifugal pump products, their operation, and application and engineering principles.
· A bachelors of Engineering degree with a minimum of five years within the pump industry or equivalent work experience.
· Minimum of three year of supervisory experience leading and directing the work of others is required.
· Working knowledge of PC, mainframe, MRP/ERP system as related to order entry, bill of materials, order processing, production and inventory control.
· Lean and/or Six Sigma experience is desireable.
· Work experience in a union environment is preferred.
