Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
This position is an integral part of a Customer Service Agreement with a Pipeline Operator. The Specialist will be located within the Integrity Engineering Department of the Pipeline Operator. The jobholder will assist the client in maintaining the integrity of their pipeline system in various engineering based tasks. The majority of tasks will be based upon or around ILI data and interpretation. It is expected that some tasks will extend outside this function.
· Be a single point of client contact for all ILI related issues and activities.
· Assist in the client's interpretation and analysis of ILI results.
· Liaise with local and global analysis and integrity team members to deliver client requests in a timely and accurate fashion.
· Assist in providing ILI and pipeline integrity related training to the client's team members.
· Mentor, guide and increase the technical knowledge of the client's team members.
· Provide assistance during field activities related to ILI reported anomalies
· Analyze field results in comparison with ILI reports.
· Perform Inspection Run Comparisons (RunCom) on repeat inspections, to appropriate levels of detail.
· Conduct fitness for purpose evaluations of pipelines based on corrosion, fracture mechanics and other mechanical engineering principles
· Prepare high quality written technical reports
· Present the results of the various integrity engineering assessments undertaken.
· Participate in pipeline integrity NPI projects as needed
· Assist in the preparation and production of Technical Papers
· Carry out QA reviews on the various technical reports prepared by internal team members.
· Identify and highlight areas of concern that could affect project execution and drive issue resolution.
Qualifications/Requirements:
· Bachelors of Science degree in an Engineering or Scientific subject.
· Minimum of 3 years practical experience in an pipeline engineering background.
· Professional verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
· Quality focused.
· Ability to work in and contribute in a team environment.
· Extended business travel required.
Desired:
· Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (GE Employees only).
· Experience in MFL, USWM, Caliper and/or USCD data analysis.
· APEGGA certified.
