The Company:
Our client is engaged in the drilling, acquisition and production of oil and gas in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Established in the summer of 2004, the executive team consists of senior professionals with successful records of creating shareholder wealth. The company's strategic plan is to grow the company to over 15,000 BOED within three to five years through a balanced combination of drilling and acquisitions. The client trades on the TSX and has completed several strategic asset acquisitions in the Peace River Arch area of Alberta. The company is now positioned to be a dominant player in the Peace River Arch with Production over 10,000 BOED, a significant undeveloped land base, operated interests in three gas plants, and a significant drilling inventory. The company has both sweet and sour gas production as well as light oil at an approximate 65:35 gas to oil split. Recently entering into a high profile resources play, our client is looking to add key personnel to assist the company's growth through the 15,000 BOED production level.
The Role:
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Manager of Production and Facilities will oversee all facets of production operations from facility construction to optimizing the performance of the assets. The Manager will be a key contributor to the operations department and the right hand to the VP. The Manager will be an engaging individual comfortable with executives and field operators. The successful candidate will interact internally with operations, exploration and exploitation, geology, joint interest, land, marketing and accounting plus externally with partners to effectively further the development of the assigned properties. The Manager will be a leader, utilizing strong communication skills to coach and mentor a group consisting of production engineers, facility engineers, and field operations staff. The bar of the operations team is set very high so the Manager needs to be comfortable with a team made up of high achievers and people with a strong work ethic.
Capabilities:
· A proven track record for working within a small oil and gas company, and contributing to its growth into a mid-size organization.
· Solid experience of growing production though new well adds, production optimizations, compressor installs, de-bottlenecking, etc.
· Oversee field development planning. Proven ability to make technical decisions with relations to design utilizing solid understanding of engineering codes, standards and specifications.
· Ability to continuously explore opportunities for the application and integration of innovative technologies
· Strong track record for leading, guiding, coaching and mentoring engineers and field staff.
· Promotes an operational environment which facilitates the recruitment, development, and retention of a competent work force.
· Work with the operations team and facilities engineer(s) to modeland optimize existing facilities. Review Gas Plants and compressor stations for improvements and optimization.
· Manage day to day operations; ensure all operations are in compliance with Corporate Health Safety and Environmental program. Implement strong working knowledge of regulatory requirements in Alberta to ensure corporate compliance objectives are met.
· Manage operation costs to improve profitability through netbacks.
· Interface with contractors and consultants.
· Assist in providing technical expertise for Company acquisition activities.

Education and Experience:
· Bachelor of Science in Engineering
· Professional designation with APEGGA
· At least ten years of progressive production or facilities experience in the oil and gas industry with at least 5 years in an operations management role.
· Peace River Arch experience will be a preferred asset
· Strong computer skills required
· Proficient with Accumap, PVR, and Microsoft Office 2007
Dependent on the candidate's experience level, the compensation program is:
· Base Salary Based upon experience level
· Stock Options Based upon experience level (priced at on employee's start date)
