Our client, a major EPC company has an exciting opportunity in the Automation (Instrumentation & Control) Department for their Edmonton office.  They are looking for the right individual who's interested in exercising their technical leadership experience in the design of power projects within Alberta and abroad.
 
Reporting to the Dept Head, Automation, as a Lead I/C Engineer you will be part of a technical team working for the Power Projects Group and be responsible for:
 
Supporting business development opportunities, completing conceptual design (Pre-FEED/FEED) work and leading the execution of project I&C design.
Specific skills in the area of control systems such as ABB, Siemens, Honeywell, Foxboro, and Allan Bradley are desirable.
Leading a team of individuals in the preparation of detailed engineering deliverables and supporting, where necessary, construction activities as well providing support to assist management activities for our major clients.
 
Qualifications:
·         Graduate of an accredited University or technical school (P.Eng preferred) with at least ten years direct experience in engineering of various types of power plants including:
·         Handling of facets of single loop design (measurement, control valves/ESD cabling, marshaling, control system tie-ins, DCS/PLC/HMI configuration / programming)
·         Working familiarity with control valves', flow elements, transmitters, switches, indicators, specialty instruments (analyzers, auto sampling, MOVs, BMS, vibration monitoring), DCS, PLC, HMI, control panels (including associated equipment), communications (digital, fibre, radio) and communications protocols.
·         Familiarity with associated electrical designs also required. 
·         Prior experience working on large - scale project (> $100 MM) projects would be highly desirable.
·         Demonstrated experience leading and coaching teams to deliver exceptional value.
·         Familiarity with typical power plant instrumentation and control systems would be an asset.
·         Prior experience in an operating plant environment coupled with EPCM experience would be ideal.
