Our client is a leading provider of integrated mapping and interpretation environments for Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists involved in the Petroleum Exploration industry. They are on the verge of releasing a significantly enhanced new version of their existing software product that involves a total behind the scene architectural shift (Enterprise Java, XML & Oracle).
They are currently looking to add a Technical Analyst to their team, act as the R&D teams customer face, interacting with Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists and working with the users through implementation, providing valuable analysis, problem-solving, support, trouble-shooting and gathering user feedback and intelligence.
In this role you will be responsible for interacting with the field users; and therefore essential you have an understanding of the terminology used in the Oil & Gas field. Understand how the users utilize the technology, gathering intelligence and than Liaising with the R&D team and play a critical role in driving future developments, feature enhancements and add-ons when new versions are released.
In this role it is essential that you have strong communication skills, strong documentation skills, able to analyse and understand the feedback provided by the users, filter it and priorities ideas and suggestions in order to champion the changes and new ideas that will provide maximum impact.
In addition you will involved in UI decisions, user acceptance testing, configuration testing.
Significant training and time to ramp up will be given
Must Have Skills:
· Strong understanding of Oil & Gas / Petroleum industry terminology (Mandatory)
· Customer focused and client facing; with the ability to act as the bridge between O&G field personnel and technical R&D software teams (Mandatory)
· Knowledge of software programming, development life-cycles and Java based software environments (Mandatory)
· Conceptual understanding and knowledge of Relational Databases - data access, tables etc (Oracle) (Mandatory)
· Proven ability to wear multiple hats and balance multiple demands - analyst, implementation specialist, support specialist, product SME (Mandatory)
Additional Skills:
Understanding of PPDM schema, requirements gathering, data mapping etc
