Description
We are looking for exceptional accounting professionals who are eager to invest their energy in building a career with [Company] Electric while further developing their technical knowledge and skills in an industry environment through the completion of the Corporate Accountant Professional Development Program.
The Corporate Account will report to the Controller's Department.
Responsibilities
- The objective of the Corporate Accountant Professional Development Program is to further develop both technical and non-technical skills for all levels of professional accountants within the organization.
- The Program includes job rotations throughout the Controller’s department to obtain technical knowledge and experience in areas including internal and external financial reporting, tax, cash management, systems, internal controls, capital assets, budgeting, forecasting, regulatory proceedings, and operations.
- The Program also includes the completion of numerous internal and external courses and seminars to acquire technical knowledge and to further develop non-technical skills including leadership, teamwork, coaching, and communication.
- The successful candidates will bring initiative and commitment and will also have the opportunity to contribute significantly and further develop technical and non-technical skills through challenging individual and team assignments.
Qualifications
- A professional accounting designation (CA/CGA/CMA) with a minimum of three to five years of progressive experience.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work well in a team environment.
- Experience in a regulatory environment and with Oracle software will be considered an asset.
