Description
We are currently seeking Intermediate and Senior level Business Analysts to join our Edmonton team. As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for building relationships with business clients and key stakeholders for business understanding, gathering and refining requirements, analyzing problems, assessing and validating solutions.
You will also work with the technical development team to refine requirements and to understand the impact of the project on corporate processes. Depending on the project assignment you may either be involved in our Oracle HRMS implementation team or you may be involved in an in house application development project.
Responsibilities
- Consult with stakeholders involved in the project to understand the business requirements in order to determine the application’s complexity of implementation, expected performance, etc.
- Interpret and translate client’s needs and provide guidance during evaluation of possible solutions.
- Provide consulting expertise to project teams and apply sound written communication skills in developing numerous project deliverables such as statements of work, business requirements definition (using business process analysis modeling techniques), business process flow diagrams and related business models.
- Proactively engage clients to develop an awareness of the products and their ability to support the client’s business needs.
- Keep track of changes in business requirements during the project life cycle, as well as later, once the system is operational.
Qualifications
- Solid Business Analysis experience complemented by post-secondary education in IT and programming experience.
- Related experience in technical writing, product demonstration and training.
- Excellent verbal and oral communication skills that result in effective, professional reports and presentations to clients and internal groups.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to recognize symptoms, determine root causes and identify alternative solutions to business problems.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively understand, document and track business requirements using data and process modeling techniques.
- Ability to work in a matrix environment.
- Extensive current awareness of techniques, methodologies and standards in project/task management with an emphasis on change management and project management philosophy.
- Experience with Oracle Time and Labour, Payroll or Core HR modules is required for one the positions.
