Provides field support of Drilling Department within the assigned Division from a rig supervisor position. Responsible for coordinating [Company] safety and drilling plans to the rig site.
Job Description:
· Must exercise good business judgment and discretion as well as maintain confidentiality.
· Responsible for supervision of company drilling operations.
· Coordinate efforts with other departments such as Geology, Land Production, Accounting and EHS.
· Ensure delivery to Production department a quality wellbore drilled efficiently, safely and economically.
· Evaluate contract rig site supervision and staffing of the positions.
· Coordinate with contractors with regard to safety programs, equipment needs and rig performance.
· Ensure engineering programs are executed properly to evaluate and produce.
· Be able to utilize skill and judgment to solve problems independently.
· Works with little or no supervision and may serve as mentor to less experienced consultants.
· Drilling Information Management System (DIMS) power user setting up new wells and answering rig questions.
· Assist in preparing and evaluating bids for all drilling services.
· Performs other duties as required.
· Job duties may involve travel.
· Evaluate well specific recommendations from mud, bit drilling contractor, cement and wellhead equipment.
· Prepare and update vendor lists, price lists, emergency phone numbers for specific areas.
· Assist in the permitting process as required.
· Perform all other technical/support functions for supervisors as indicated.
Job Requirements:
· Minimum of 10 + years experience in a rig supervisory role in drilling and re-entries.
· Completion experience is an advantage.
· Drilling experience must include directional, horizontal and vertical well experience.
· Must be operationally sound with regards to safety and field drilling experience.
· Good communication and organizational skills.
· Must be able to manage a large logistical workload required to maintain a high activity level.
