The EHS Specialist to Senior Staff EHS Specialist position in , is responsible for providing general EHS and detailed environmental support to [Company] Western Division E&P and operations.  Operations that are supported include, but are not limited to, gas plants, pipelines/compressor stations, and E&P operations in[Location] , and , , and , (with most being in ).
 
Job Description:
·         Maintains a broad knowledge and understanding of EHS compliance issues, procedures, and regulations, with a focus on environmental regulations and compliance in , including air quality permitting.
·         Demonstrates more in–depth knowledge and technical skills related to E&P and gas plant environmental requirements.
·         Maintains a solid working knowledge of E&P and gas plant operations.
·         Independently provides cost-effective environmental guidance and recommendations to Operations as they strive to operate properties at a maximum economic rate while complying with regulatory requirements and company policies.
·         Analyzes state environmental regulations, explains the requirements to Operations, and coordinates the development and implementation of applicable programs for cost-effective compliance.
·         Facilitates the integration of environmental regulations, policies, and procedures in the field.
·         Independently investigates incidents that potentially affect the environment or the public.  Supports the development and implementation of changes that will reduce the risk of recurrence.
·         Manages and directs environmental contractors or consultants.
·         Interacts with state and federal regulatory agencies.
·         Develops, gathers, and maintains environmental data to compose routine and non-routine environmental reports and regulatory documents.
·         Participates in the EHS field review process (i.e., EHS audits of field operations) and EHS training programs.
·         Represents the company at environmental regulatory hearing/meetings and regional or state trade associations.  Initiates contact with regulatory agencies on routine matters.
·         Works under general supervision, carrying out relatively complex environmental projects and assignments independently while conferring with supervisor on unusual matters.  Has appreciable latitude for unreviewed action or decisions.
·         May be required on relatively short notice to travel to field locations or a corporate office to provide environmental support to Operations or participate in corporate EHS matters.
 
Job Requirements:
·         Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering or at least 8 years experience in E&P or gas plant field operations; plus at least 3 years of E&P and/or gas plant environmental experience.
