Company Profile:
[Company] requires an enthusiastic, innovative and motivated individual to join our Energy Services Accounting team, reporting to the Team Leader Energy Services Accounting. The primary role of the Energy Services Accounting group is the monthly settlement and reporting of natural gas marketing transactions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Accurate and timely settlement of natural gas sale and purchase transactions
- Complete reconciliations of various general ledger accounts
- Assist with the compilation and filing of various regulatory reports
- Interact with customers, gas scheduling and other accounting groups on various matters, including follow-up of Accounts Receivable issues, to ensure all discrepancies are resolved on a timely basis
- Participate in projects associated with process improvements, automation and meeting CEO/CFO certification requirements.
Qualifications:
- University degree in accounting, finance or economics
- Actively pursuing an accounting designation CMA, CGA, CA
- Excellent communicator with strong verbal and written skills
- Proven team player with superior interpersonal skills
- Confident, detail orientated with well developed organizational and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, taking on new responsibilities as required and delivering business value under pressure
- Adaptable to changing situations and fosters a positive attitude
- Looks for innovative ways to do things better, faster and more efficiently
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Qbyte and Encompass considered an asset
- Experience in the natural gas industry considered an asset
