Designing, maintaining and optimizing surface facilities and production equipment to increase reliability and reduce operating costs. The production facilities are located in both waterflood and CO2 flood areas. As the CO2 flood expands, new facilities and equipment upgrades will be required.
Also responsible for facilities surveillance activities within the operating area. This requires working closely with Operations and Special Services personnel on reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs, predictive maintenance (PdM) initiatives, root cause failure analysis (RCFA), equipment mechanical integrity (MI), with the ultimate goal being to increase mean time between failures (MTBF) and reduce operating costs. Need ability to identify and execute projects which maximize the efficiency of mechanical equipment in an effort to reduce operating/energy costs.
· Requires travel to field locations 20-25%.
Responsibilities:
· B.S. degree or higher in engineering and 5+ years exp.
· Thorough understanding of typical surface production equipment (piping, separators, tanks, pumps, compressors, electrical, instrumentation, etc.).
· Understanding of waterflood and CO2 flood operations.
· Demonstrated ability to manage the design and installation of cost-effective, operable, safe, and environmentally/legally compliant waterflood and CO2 flood surface equipment and infrastructure.
· Project management skills.
· Demonstrated ability to reduce equipment operating costs, while improving reliability.
· Understanding of relevant industry specifications such as ASME, ANSI, NACE, API, ASTM, NEC/NFPA, ISA, etc.
· Ability to perform project economic evaluations independently.
· Ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information.
· Proficiency in all required technical and economic software programs.
· Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
· Understanding of equipment maintenance requirements and operating characteristics, including the design of effective reliability centered maintenance programs.
Qualifications:
· Proficient design and operating knowledge of horizontal split case, multi-stage, centrifugal pumps.
· Proficient design and operating knowledge of reciprocating, rotary screw and sliding vane compressors.
· Understanding of jurisdictional (i.e., DOT regulated) pipeline operations.
