Overview
The Senior Financial Analyst performs a variety of financial reporting and analysis functions including preparing and analyzing financial data during the monthly closing process. Assists the Assistant Controller with quarterly SEC filing requirements, accounting research, planning and forecasting and capital expenditure reviews. Manages and completes various financial projects and process improvements as they are assigned.
Job Description
- Prepares monthly financial analysis and obtains monthly variance explanations.
- Prepares journal entries and enters them in general ledger system.
- Works on ad hoc financial projects/process improvements.
- Assists with accounting research and quarterly SEC filings.
- Assists with operating and capital planning and forecasting.
- Analyzes capital commitments and expenditures.
- Prepares general ledger account reconciliations.
- Compiles financial information for various data requests.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- At least three years of accounting experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to use JDEdwards and Cognos Finance.
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical abilities.
- CPA preferred.
