Job Description
 
Job Description and Responsibilities – The Compression/Facility Engineer will:
 
  • Report to the Gathering and Compression Engineering Supervisor within the SJBU Discipline Engineering Group and work out of the SJBU Office in Farmington, New Mexico on a Monday through Friday schedule. 
  • Participate in the development and consistent implementation of engineering standards (for wellsite compressors, major central compression facilities, pipelines, and E&P facilities) and construction standards. 
  • Providing technical engineering support and guidance in the installation, maintenance, and repair of compression and production equipment.
  • Participate in corporate Networks of Excellence (NoE) providing knowledge sharing items in these areas.
  • Operating data analysis and economic justification for various projects including wellsite compression and facilities, pipelines, and central compressor facilities 
  • Development of bid packages and evaluation of same for budgeted compression, pipeline, and facility projects.
  • Provide support to Production Operations as requested (e.g., engine fuel usage tables, PSV testing intervals, VISTAS emissions reporting, strategic sourcing for compression, etc.)
  • Show demonstrated commitment to and understanding of ConocoPhilips L48 HSE Management System.
  • Utilize existing knowledge, experience, and interaction with various L48 teams to influence peers and other functional groups through peer and project reviews. 
  • Actively pursue Project Management processes around project scoping, schedule development, cost estimating, project forecasting, and scope change documentation. 
  • Monitor and report on the progress of facility projects.  Provide creative project options to meet critical time or capital requirements.  Track and reconcile actual project costs with forecasts.
  • Develop infrastructure capital and expense spending profiles for the SJBU Long Range Planning (LRP).
  • Coordinate with Production Operations, Reservoir Engineering, Environmental, Regulatory, HSE, Projects, Right of Way, Accounting, Procurement, Finance, Commercial, Drafting, 3rd Party Gathering and Processing entities, and Development partners to successfully develop and execute Development plans.
  • Provide support for the MOC process and perform Risk Assessments as required to comply with the HSE Management System.
  • Make periodic presentations to business partners for the support and funding of capital projects.
 
Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering – Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Preferred
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness and ability to travel 10-20% of the time to both field locations and other office locations
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the Oil and Gas Industry in at least two of the following areas: upstream facility design, compression project design/installation, economic analysis, and capital project management.
