Opportunity
We have a great opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to become an industry leader in a growing foundation marketplace. Almita Manufacturing Ltd. Designs, Fabricates and Installs screw-in pilings for a wide variety of applications. We have a strong and increasing presence in the Alberta foundation market. Industries include: oil and gas, commercial, residential, telecommunication and power utilities (towers), pipelines, retaining walls and heavy industrial foundations.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will involve a combination of technical work and project management in a broad range of foundation projects. The position of senior/intermediate geotechnical engineer will evolve into a Managers role for the right candidate. An important component of the position is interacting with engineers and designers, the consulting engineering community to establish and build long term relationships. Completing product and project related design work as required and providing technical product support for our Canadian and USA customers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Intermediate/Senior Engineer- Preferred candidate will have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience, along with the following:
· Currently registered or immediately eligible for registration as a P.Eng. with APEGGA would be an asset.
· Strong academic background and solid understanding of soil mechanics and local geology.
· Experience in the piling and foundation area would be an asset.
· Good communication, report writing, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
· Superior planning and client relation skills.
