Our Southern District Accounting & Business Support team has an excellent opportunity for a Business Analyst. This role focuses on the processes used in tracking business performance and the strategic evaluation of [Company] Southern District. This is achieved by converting data, trends and business knowledge into information that is both value-added and timely. The goal is to ensure the planning, re-forecasting and reporting needs of the District are met.
The successful candidate will learn from the diverse cross-functional District team by gaining knowledge of the organization's business systems. This position reports to the Supervisor, Business Support and is located in Calgary.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support the Southern District in the planning, re-forecasting and analysis of volumes, capital, reserves, operating costs, and revenues.
· Provide timely and accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting and analysis of results.
· Work directly with Field office managers (operations and development) to assist in managing the day to day business via reporting and ad hoc queries.
· Provide support to the Southern District Management, Engineers, Geologists, and Field management regarding results, analysis, and operational issues.
Qualifications:
· Degree with 3 to 5 years of analytical or financial accounting experience.
· CMA designation or in the process of obtaining is an asset.
· Exposure to oil & gas operations, financial / production accounting and related systems are valuable assets.
· Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to see the big picture.
· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
· Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage numerous issues with in multi disciplinary and time driven environment.
· Capable of dealing with rapid change and the ability to learn quickly.
· Ability to focus on the stakeholder needs.
· Proficient with Envision and MS Office Suite with advanced Excel skills.
