Description:
Reporting to the Supervisor, External Financial Reporting, the successful candidate will be responsible for several aspects of [Company] external financial reporting, will have a strong knowledge of GAAP, an ability to work with individuals with diverse professional backgrounds and the desire to be continually challenged in a head office environment.
Primary responsibilities will include:
· Drafting various items for inclusion in the Company's annual and quarterly reports including Management's Discussion and Analysis, notes to financial statements and other supplementary disclosures;
· Working with the Corporate Communications and Investor Relations groups to ensure the release of high quality financial information in press releases, the Company's quarterly and annual reports and investor presentations;
· Researching accounting policy issues;
· Preparing Audit Committee presentations;
· Working on projects relating to the adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards;
· Management of the Company's production reporting model;
· Ad-hoc projects as they arise.
Qualifications:
· We are looking for reliable, hard working individuals who are capable of performing both routine and non-routine tasks with minimal supervision in a deadline driven environment.
Other qualifications include:
A post-secondary education and professional accounting designation (CA, CMA or CGA);
· At least 1 year post of qualification experience with a public accounting firm;
· Public company reporting experience;
· Strong organizational, interpersonal, time management, computer, and analytical skills;
· Oil and gas accounting experience would be an asset.
