Position Summary
Flint Energy Services Ltd. is currently seeking applicants for the position of Lead Estimator in our Sherwood Park, AB location. The Lead Estimator will prepare comprehensive, accurate, and consistent industrial Civil and Mechanical lump sum estimates within a wide range of values.
Key Responsibility Areas:
· Develop estimates in accordance with the Flint estimating procedure;
· As Lead Estimator, provide direction to estimators in preparation of estimate;
· Enthusiastic team player and effective communicator with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a rapid change environment;
· Establish estimating parameters, factors, productivity, and craft mix based on analysis of other Flint projects;
· Mentor, coaches and develops direct reports, and provides daily direction to estimators;
· Document estimate build-up and communicate details effectively to internal and external clients;
· Interface and provide on-going technical support to construction.
Desired skills and experience:
· A diploma, trade certificate, or professional designation in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience is preferred;
· 5 to 10 years of practical, hands on, and successful experience in organizing, preparing, and documenting lump sum estimates for industrial construction projects;
· Sound experience in detailed estimating techniques based on well-defined work break down structures, as opposed to simplified percentages;
· Promote positive safety attitudes that will help achieve corporate objective.
