Our client, a leader in the EPC field with multiple offices across Canada and around the world has an exciting new opportunity for an Intermediate Buyer for its Oakville office.
Responsibilities
· Confirming purchasing requirements;
· Obtaining complete descriptions of items required and ensuring purchase requisitions are properly authorized;
· Soliciting competitive quotations, prices or tenders from potential suppliers;
· Preparing purchase orders, analyzing and evaluating bids and making recommendations on the best vendor;
· Developing new sources of supply;
· Developing inventory forecasts (trending).
· Problem Solving & Decision Making
· Makes decisions and recommendations within established guidelines and procedures.
· Exercises initiative in completing recurring assignments independently. Uses judgment in determining which of many methods is applicable in any given situation.
General Qualifications & Knowledge
· Community College graduation or PMAC certification and a minimum of two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
· General knowledge of standard methods and established procedures.
