This role will be responsible for supporting software specific to drilling operations and drilling engineering by working with ’s Corporate and Divisional Drilling organizations.  This role will coordinate the efforts of BI&T in regards to the drilling applications being supported.
 
Job Description:
·         Communication skills are critical as this position interacts closely with business partners and developers while gathering requirements, designing, testing, implementing and supporting solutions.
·         Working knowledge and understanding of drilling terms and processes.
·         Work with business owners to ensure that implemented solutions as well as operational activities satisfy business requirements and are delivered in a timely manner.   Specific areas of application are:
·         Drilling engineering databases and applications
·         Real-time ASP systems providing rig and drilling information
·         Pore pressure analysis applications
·         Real time integrated well planning applications and systems
·         Develop and manage strong relationships with Divisional drilling and completions business partners.
·         Innovate and develop ideas for continuous improvement in business processes.
·         Communicate and work with the other BI&T departments to ensure the needs of business units are met.
·         Coordinate the research, implementation, and appropriate utilization of new applications.
·         Manage daily activities, which may involve working with complex technical hardware or software problems.
·         Manage scheduling of software upgrades and patches - Ensure that software licensing is adhered to including maintenance renewals.
·         Facilitate requirements gathering, business process design, solution design, and integration strategies.
·         Act as a liaison between business facing groups and development groups.
·         Aid System Analysts in analyzing, troubleshooting and problem solving data inconsistencies.
·         Establish project and work objectives, manage tasks and timelines, and interact with multiple disciplines.
·         Ability to work as a team player.
 
·         Self-starter with the ability to work without daily supervision.
·         Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
·         Skilled in multitasking and providing premium support to business users.
·         Able to provide mentorship and coaching to other team members.
·         Demonstrates the desire and ability to learn and utilize new technologies.
 
Job Requirements:
·         Undergraduate degree or equivalent information systems experience preferred
·         Oil and Gas industry experience
·         Drilling Software support experience preferred
·         5+ years of application support.
·         Oil and Gas industry experience a plus.
·         Experience in multitasking and providing premium levels of support to business users.
·         Ability to learn quickly, understand complex problems, and apply useful solutions to those problems
·         Experience running mid-size projects in a large organization.  Imperative skills include:
·         Strong written and oral communication skills
·         Strong interpersonal skills
·         Ability to work as a team player
·         Action oriented self-starter
·         Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills – experience in analyzing and understanding business/technology system architectures, databases, and client applications.
·         Solid experience with relational databases including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
·         Familiarity with ETL tools (See Beyond, Infomatica, etc.) and ETL processes.
·         Familiarity with reporting environments (i.e. , Brio, Business Objects).
·         Able to provide mentorship and coaching to other team members.
