Optimizes and maintains oil and gas production and lease expenses. Prepares, maintains, and submits daily reports and records of daily gas and/or liquid volume, well pressure, volume of chemicals used, etc. This is a hands-on position. (For a LO3, this is the highest level of lease operator, capable of handling most problems other than those needing foreman assistance. Qualified to serve as a first-line Assistant Foreman as necessary.) Operates and maintains production equipment including plungers and automation equipment. For LO1, this is a lease operator entry-level, training position.
Job Description:
· Performs daily operational check of assigned wells and production facilities. *
· Operates pumping unit equipment including automation equipment *
· Supervises well work to the level assigned by the foreman. (LO3) *
· Performs repairs on surface production. (LO1, performs minor repairs under supervision)
· Witnesses purchaser’s gauges and tests, ensuring accuracy of run tickets.
· Represents the company in delivery of materials.
· (For LO3) Train newly hired and/or less experienced lease operators. (For LO2 - Assists in training needs.)
· Maintains compliance, in conjunction with and through close coordination with the Foreman and EHS Dept. for all regulatory, environmental, and safety issues. (LO3) Assists the Foreman on supervision of construction projects. *
· Maintains the field offices and yards to facilitate an efficient field operation. (For LO1 - assist the foreman with these activities.) *
· Supports and maintains all company policies. *
· Secures and maintains all Devon-issued equipment, including but not limited to computers, vehicles, and analysis of test equipment. *
· Prepares and submits material transfer forms.
· Operates Company vehicles and equipment. *
· Travels and works extended hours on short notice. *
· Capable of climbing stairs, ladders, and various equipment during production and drilling
Job Requirements:
· Strong commitment to safety and environment
· High School diploma or equivalent. Position receives extensive on-the job trainin
· Lease Operator 2 & 3 – Minimum of five (5) years general oil field experience and lease operator experience
· Lease Operator 1 – Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years general oilfield or lease operator experience
· Basic computer skills
· Good communication, both written and verbal
· Capable of working effectively and willingly within a team environment
· Creative individual, capable of analyzing and solving mechanical problems
· Strong commitment to safety and environment
