Job Responsibilities
·         Responsible for maintaining and developing existing customer base and revenue by facilitating effective customer relations and services.
·         Represents Kinder Morgan and communicates company services, policies and procedures to customers.
·         Identify, analyze and resolve a wide range of problems involving terminals and pipeline services.
·         Responds to customer inquiries and takes the lead in negotiating contracts and amendments, as well as resolving customer issues in a timely manner.
·         Meets with customers on a regular basis to understand customer’s ongoing business and changes and to develop new business, maintain ongoing business and ensure effective communications and relations.
·         Know target customers and identify opportunities to maximize use of company assets and services.
·         Keep up-to-date and knowledgeable of the competition.
·         Coordinates communications on customer issues with other departments such as Operations, Engineering, Accounting and Business Development.
·         Prepares annual revenue budget, weekly revenue estimate, provides ad hoc analysis and assistance in analyzing revenue and volume performance. Validate revenue generated through knowledge of billing process to insure correctness.
·         Develops and handles customer/marketing projects. This includes development of marketing projects to increase revenue, this includes working with customers for project development, working with Engineering and Operations in development of request for estimate; and provide economic analysis and justification for management approval.
 
Educational Requirements
(minimal requirements and any additional education or training that would be helpful) 
·         High School Diploma or equivalent required.
·         Minimum BA/BS; MBA a plus.
 
Job Requirements
(specific experience, skills, knowledge, certifications, licenses, competencies, working conditions) 
·         Experience, Specific Knowledge, Certification, Licenses:
·         3-5 years of increasing responsibility in a related business environment.
·         Experience in economic analysis a plus.
·         Prior experience working with legal documents and/or detailed and confidential material.
·         A satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company and current, valid State driver’s license are required.
 
Competencies/Skills:
·         Ability to effectively resolve customer issues.
·         Ability to negotiate customer agreements.
·         Ability to develop business documents such as customer letters, proposals, summaries, etc.
·         Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the petroleum business, fundamentals of refining, product specifications and key market factors.
·         Well-balanced interpersonal skills and demonstrable verbal and written communication skills.
·         Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.
·         Must be accountable and take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
·         Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential.
·         Must be a problem solver with the ability to find resolutions.
·         Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
·         Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co-workers, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
 
Work Conditions:
·         Office environment; approximately 40% of time is computer work; 30% is on the phone; and 30% is making site/customer visits.
·         Must be willing and able to travel locally to customer sites and meetings.
 
Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge
(above the minimum requirements; not required, but advantageous in this position) 
·         Negotiating techniques a plus.
·         Petroleum industry commercial contacts, business environment and background a plus.
