Job Responsibilities
· Research, review & analyze land title data; identify defects & outline curative.
· Negotiate the acquisition of right of way & other property interests in support of construction, operation & maintenance of company facilities in a manner that avoids litigation.
· Negotiate property damage settlements & loss claims associated with capital projects & normal pipeline operations necessary to maintain company facilities.
· Prepare right of way related cost estimates associated with land & right of way acquisition.
· Secure all civil permits necessary for the construction & maintenance of company facilities.
· Prepare, review, analyze & interpret land & right of way related agreements, easements, leases, permits & licenses.
· Serve as liason between internal departments, developers, local, state and federal governmental entities in support of right of way activities.
· Assist in resolution of encroachments, damage claims, landowner complaints and inquiries at a minimal cost to the company.
· Other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
(minimal requirements and any additional education or training that would be helpful)
· Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four year college or university, equivalent energy industry Land & Right of way related work experience.
Job Requirements
(specific experience, skills, knowledge, certifications, licenses, competencies, working conditions)
· Minimum of five years experience in Land & Right of Way, with three years in the pipeline industry.
· Comprehensive knowledge of land rights, title, legal descriptions and legal & engineering terminology.
· Must have strong analytical and reconciliation skills in connection with the interpretation and verification of property rights.
· Travel is required
· Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license, and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers
· Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job
· Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), focus attention on details, follow work rules, and adhere to work schedules required
