Responsibilities:
Develop team through coaching and generating ideas with the Team Manager and colleagues.
Communication of information across the interfaces between OED SEET and other Technip Group entities in respect of both project support work and R&D/Consolidation activities.
Ensure the quality of work issued is high and conforms to OED and Group procedures.
Participate proactively in the management of the team.
Seek advice and input from Team Manager on challenging projects.
Consolidate Group experience in discipline.
Promote Technip’s engineering excellence through publications.
Remain conversant with the latest industry developments.
Provide a link between project management teams and OED.
Liase with project management teams to identify the motives for any given work request, ensure the scope of work agreed is suitable and that the task is completed within the agreed timeframe.
Provide support in the most convenient location for the project team.
R&D
Effectively manage on-going R&D programmes to ensure they are completed to forecast schedule and budget.
Requirements:
An OED Senior Structural Engineer will hold a high quality honours degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture.
Additional post-graduate qualification(s) in subsea engineering or naval architecture is advantageous.
Ability to deal easily and effectively with a wide range of audiences.
Ability to understand and meet the needs of customers as appropriate, and deliver what was agreed within defined time frame.

An OED Senior Structural Engineer should have at least 5 years relevant experience and must an expert in the application of structural engineering principles to complex structural analysis and structural aspects of equipment design problems.
This diverse range of activities requires considerable breadth of engineering knowledge and an innovative approach to engineering problem solving.
Previous experience of subsea and vessel engineering problems is preferred.
Open communication skills are essential in order to undertake effective coaching of fellow team members. It is expected that this will be achieved through task related discussions, leading by example and supporting colleagues development.
A Senior Engineer must have enthusiasm and diligence for both their specific field of expertise and the continuous improvement of OED and Technip Group as a whole.
Progress beyond the Senior Engineer role can be enhanced through effective communications with our Group of companies, a willingness to proactively address multi-disciplinary problems and an ongoing commitment to self improvement.
