Job Description
- Designs manufacturing processes in a concurrent engineering environment for all products manufactured in the Houston Plant. Standardizes processes
- for manufacturing core products and redesigns processes to improve throughput and manufacturing costs.
- Develops numerical control (N/C) programs on all CNC machine tools for manufacturing products in the Houston Plant.
- Conducts producibility reviews and value analysis to ensure product designs are producible and cost effective.
- Identifies and procures tooling, gauges and fixtures to support the manufacturing of products in the Houston Plant. Provides manufacturing support in the identification, procurement and start-up of machine tools for production.
- Provides technical support to Project and Business Teams and performs manufacturing engineering activities in a concurrent engineering environment.
- Performs special projects to support business objectives as required.
Qualifications
- BS Degree in Engineering. Four to seven years relevant experience in specialized area or product line(s) or MS degree plus three to five years experience.
- Detailed knowledge of at least one FMC or related p
- roduct line and general knowledge of several lines. Some knowledge of systems. Basic knowledge of competing and alternative technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to independently create functional & cost effective designs that meet complex specification requirements. Regularly demonstrates capability for conceptualizing designs.
- General understanding of internal economic factors (cost, margins, profit impact of decisions) affecting assignment areas.
- Must be proficient in use of CAD and Database systems related to Engineering functions.
- Shows evidence of good organization and project planning skills.
- Shows evidence of ability to guide and mentor others and demonstrates some degree of leadership ability.
