Qualifications
- B.S. in Technical Writing/Communications, English, Engineering, or related field, with an aptitude for technical concepts.
- Eight to ten years experience in technical writing/editing, procedure writing, publication production, and formatting technical documents.
- Preference given to those with prior experience in a technical field such as manufacturing, oil field services, training, QA, or safety inspections or education in a technical field.
- Broad knowledge of departmental function, terminology and interrelationships. Solid understanding of policies and procedures that apply to assignments. Ability to evaluate and resolve problems independently.
- High level of communication skills necessary to gather information from multiple sources.
- Analytical ability required to
- understand technical documents for the purpose of editing and rewording documents while maintaining the desired meaning.
- Project and time management skills in order to coordinate project deliverables in an effective, efficient, and timely manner.
- PC skills including expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access). Ability to use advanced department-specific software packages.
- Strong interpersonal skills for intra- and inter-departmental communications.
- Must have the ability to handle many diverse tasks simultaneously and be able to work effectively with interruptions.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential or sensitive information or issues.
