Job Description
Reporting to the Lead Advisor, Corporate Risk, this new position will be responsible for facilitating the development of an integrated risk framework. This position will also provide support and analysis in the areas of consolidated risk reporting and assisting with a variety of other projects including assistance with reference resources and programs related to risk identification, measurement and reporting.
Responsibilities:
· Assist in the preparation of Board, Executive Team, and a variety of other materials and presentations on a regular and ad-hoc basis;
· Develop, maintain, and consolidate internal risk databases;
· Interface with individuals responsible for risk management throughout the organization on a regular basis to accumulate risk-related information;
· Support the development of risk management tools, including systems to accumulate and report risk information;
· Keep up to date on current topics, research, and common practices in risk management
· Maintain benchmarking of risks across peer companies and monitor macro trends in risk management; and
· Assist with a variety of special projects.
Education:
Post secondary degree in finance, economics or business; graduate level degree an advantage. Completion of professional qualifications - CA, CFA, CMA, CGA, MBA, Engineering, Law, Internal Audit – is preferred.
Experience:
· Minimum 10 + years of experience in risk and/or controls required, with specific experience in Corporate Risk management within the oil and gas industry considered an advantage;
· Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access, and Publisher;
· Self-starter, motivated, energetic with excellent analytical skills;
· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish relationships and interact with a diverse group of professionals and address problems with strategic thinking;
· Ability to work with a cross-functional team in a collaborative manner
· Results oriented and delivery focused; able to deliver high quality results under tight deadlines;
· Excellent communication skills, verbal and written; and
· Experience in training, presentations, and/or workshop facilitation.
