Brief Description
The Information Services Team is looking for a Permanent Full-time Systems Analyst to perform Business Intelligence Report and ETL development using the Oracle Business Intelligence and Oracle Data Integrator toolset.
Detailed Description
This position will report to the Director of IS for EPCOR Alberta, and will focus on the Manage Portfolio and Offsets process and corresponding Business Areas. This process cuts across EPCOR Alberta Business Units as well as Corporate Business Units.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- As a Systems Analyst, your mandate is to provide outstanding customer service and to facilitate the achievement of results through supporting production applications and implementing new system enhancements.
- You will respond to and resolve production application issues and complete work requests defined by the business units.
- You will work with affected Business Unit employees and Senior Management to help identify process improvements, system changes, and business needs in order to achieve growth and efficiency.
- You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in order to gather business requirements and coordinate the development, testing and implementation of production changes.
Job Requirements
- Qualified candidates will have completed a related post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a Technical Diploma.
- This should be supplemented with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a developer or systems analyst (preferably in the Utility Industry) that includes support development and support responsibilities.
- Your track record must demonstrate your ability to work with a diverse group of clients, vendors and colleagues.
Strong skills must be demonstrated in:
- Reporting and OLAP tools and technologies from at least one vendor such as Oracle, Cognos, Business Objects, Microsoft;
- ETL technologies such as Oracle Warehouse Builder, Informatica, Microsoft DTS or SSIS, Cognos;
- VB.Net, C#, ASP, ASP.NET;
- Oracle PL/SQL;
- Microsoft SQL Server, Access;
- XML.
Knowledge of the following would be desirable:
- Commodities trading;
- Finance / Accounting;
- Business Intelligence
- Experience with Risk Advisory's Energy Bookrunner;
- SubVersion;
- Unix Shell Scripting;
- JAVA;
- Apache Tomcat.
- Solid knowledge of Unix (HP-UX, Linux), Windows, and the Microsoft Office suite is required as well.
Additional Details
- Hours of work: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- Job Level: M1
- Salary: Negotiable based on qualifications/experience
- This position qualifies for a referral bonus of $1500.
